How to Upload Files Using File Manager in cPanel

Overview

The File Manager in your Thamara Cloud hosting account allows you to easily upload, organize, and manage your website files directly from your browser — no need for FTP software.

This guide explains how to upload files to your hosting account using cPanel’s File Manager

Step 1: Log in to Your cPanel Account

You can access your cPanel in two ways:

Option 1: Log in directly

  1. Go to your Thamara Cloud cPanel login page (you can find it in your welcome email).
  2. Enter your cPanel username and password.
  3. Once logged in, go to the Files section and click File Manager.

You’ll now see all folders and files stored in your hosting account.

Option 2: Log in via Thamara Cloud Client Area

  1. Go to your Client Area Dashboard
  2. Click Services from the main menu, then select your active hosting package.
  3. Under Quick Links, click Login to cPanel → then open File Manager.

Step 2: Configure File Manager Settings

Once inside the File Manager:

  • Click Settings in the upper-right corner.

  • Select: Web Root (public_html)
  • Show Hidden Files (.htaccess, etc.)
  • Click Save.

This ensures you’re working in the correct directory for your website (usually public_html).

Step 3: Upload Files

  1. Navigate to the folder where you want to upload files (e.g., public_html).
  2. Click the Upload button in the top toolbar.

  1. Click Select File (or Choose File, depending on your browser).

  • Select the file(s) from your computer and click Open to start uploading.

Tip: You can upload multiple files at once.

Note: The File Manager supports uploads up to 500 MB.

For larger files, we recommend using FTP access (available in your Thamara Cloud dashboard)

Step 4: Verify Uploaded Files

Once the upload completes, your file(s) will appear in the selected folder.

You can now:

  • Edit or move files within File Manager
  • Set file permissions
  • Or use the file’s URL to share it online
