How to Set up Email client into Gmail

1. Add Your Other Email Account to Gmail (to Receive Mail)

  1. Open Gmail on your computer.
  2. Click the ⚙️ Settings iconSee all settings.
  3. Go to the Accounts and Import tab.
  4. Under Check mail from other accounts, click Add a mail account.
  5. Enter your email address (e.g., you@yourdomain.com) → click Next.
  6. Choose “Import emails from my other account (POP3)”Next.
  7. Enter the following info:
    • Username: your full email address
    • Password: your email password
    • POP Server: (varies by provider — examples below)
    • Port: usually 995
    • Check “Always use a secure connection (SSL)”
  1. Click Add Account.


2. Set Up Gmail to Send Mail As That Address

After you finish step 1, Gmail will ask:

“Would you also like to be able to send mail as you@yourdomain.com?”
Choose Yes and follow these steps:
  1. Enter your name (as you want it to appear in emails).
  2. Choose whether to send mail through your domain’s SMTP server (recommended).
  3. Enter SMTP settings:
    • SMTP Server: (depends on your provider, e.g. smtp.yourdomain.com)
    • Port: usually 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
    • Username: your full email address
    • Password: your email password
  1. Click Add Account.
  2. Gmail will send a verification code to that email — check your inbox and confirm.


Once Done:

  • You can send and receive emails from your non-Gmail address inside Gmail.
  • When composing an email, click the “From” field to choose which address to send from.
