How to Schedule a Task in Plesk

Scheduling tasks (also known as cron jobs) in Plesk allows you to automate commands or scripts at specific intervals, saving time and improving efficiency. This guide will show you how to schedule a task through your Plesk control panel.

Follow these steps to create a scheduled task:

Step 1: Access Scheduled Tasks

  1. Log in to your Plesk control panel.
  2. In the left sidebar, navigate to Websites & Domains.
  3. Click on Scheduled Tasks.

This will take you to the task management area where you can view, add, and manage your scheduled jobs.

Step 2: Add a New Task

  1. Click on the Add Task button at the top or bottom of the scheduled tasks list.

This will open a new form where you can configure the details of your scheduled task.

Step 3: Configure Your Task

Fill in the required information:

  • Task Type: Choose from Command, Fetch a URL, or Run a PHP script.
  • Command or Script Path: Enter the command or path to the script you want to run.
  • Run: Choose how often the task should run (e.g., Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Custom schedule).
  • Description (Optional): Add a note to describe what this task does.

Click OK to save the task once configured.

Tip: If you want to test your scheduled task immediately, you can click Run Now to execute it manually and confirm that it works as expected.

That’s it! Your task will now run according to the schedule you defined.
