How to Reset Your cPanel Password

This article outlines the different methods available for resetting your cPanel account password, depending on whether you are already logged in 

Method 1: Via the cPanel Login Page (If you Forgot Your Password)

Use this method if you cannot log into cPanel and need to use your registered email address.

  1. Access Page: Enter your cPanel URL into a browser.


  1. Request Reset: On the cPanel login page, click the Reset Password link.



  1. Enter Credentials: Enter your cPanel Username, then click Reset Password.



  1. Email Verification: Enter your registered email address (Signup Email Address), then click Send Security Code.



  1. Confirm Code: Check your email inbox and note the security code you received.


  1. Reset: Return to the login page, enter the security code, and click Submit.



  1. New Password: Provide and confirm your new desired password, then click Set Password.



  1. Login: A success notification will appear. You can now use your username and new password to access cPanel.




Method 2: Inside cPanel (To Change Your Current Password)

If you are already logged in and wish to update your current password for security reasons:

  1. User Menu: Click the User Menu icon located in the top-right corner of the cPanel screen.


  1. Security: Select Password & Security from the options.


  1. Old Password Confirmation: Enter your old cPanel password.


  1. Set New Password: Enter your new password twice. You may also use the Password Generator feature to create a strong password.
  2. Change: Click the Change your password now! button.
