How to enable Monitor to auto-restart services
Overview
To ensure your VPS or Dedicated Server stays online and stable, WHM offers a Service Monitoring feature that automatically checks the health of critical services (like Apache, MySQL, and Exim) and restarts them if they stop working.
This feature helps prevent downtime by automatically detecting and fixing service interruptions.
1. Log in to WHM
- Go to:
https://yourserverip:2087 - Enter your root username and password.

2. Open Service Manager
- From the WHM main menu, navigate to:
Home → Service Configuration → Service Manager

3. Enable Monitoring
- You’ll see a list of services such as:
cpsrvd(cPanel service)httpd(Apache Web Server)exim(Mail Server)named(DNS Server)sshd(SSH Service)mysql(MySQL Server)
- For each service you want to monitor:
Check “Monitor” — to have WHM’s Service Manager watch the service status.
Check “Enable” — to allow automatic restarts when the service fails.

4. Save Settings
- Scroll down and click Save to apply the changes.
- WHM will now automatically restart monitored services if they stop unexpectedly.
" Tip For Thamara Users"
- You can review logs of automatic restarts in WHM → Server Status → Service Status.
- For advanced monitoring, consider using cPanel Monitoring Plugins or external uptime tools.
