How to Enable DKIM Protection for Outgoing Emails in Plesk

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a digital signature system that helps verify that outgoing emails from your domain are genuine and not altered during transmission.

Enabling DKIM in Plesk reduces the chance of your messages being flagged as SPAM and increases your domain’s trust score with email providers such as Gmail or Outlook.

____

1-Log in to Plesk Control Panel

  • Access your hosting panel.
  • Then go to Websites & Domains.
  • from mail sec- Open Mail Settings.

 2- Enable DKIM

  • Check the option: Use DKIM spam protection system to sign outgoing email messages.

3-Confirm DKIM Selector

  • Under Active DKIM Selector, choose default (Plesk Default) or create a new one using Create New DKIM Selector.
  • Click Save.

4- Add DNS Records (if using external DNS)

  • If your DNS is hosted externally (e.g., Cloudflare), click How to configure external DNS to view and copy the necessary TXT records, then add them manually to your DNS provider.

5- Verify Activation

  • Send a test email to Gmail.

  • Open the message details (Show Original) and confirm you see:

DKIM=PASS

Notes:

  • It’s recommended to also enable SPF and DMARC for complete email protection.

  • If you’re using Roundcube Webmail, no further configuration is needed.

  • Allow 15–30 minutes for DNS changes to propagate if DKIM doesn’t appear active immediately.
