How to Back Up a Database in Plesk

Overview

Backing up your database is an essential step before making any changes or migrations. Plesk provides a simple way to export your database directly from the control panel as a downloadable backup file (.zip).

 

 Step-by-Step Guide


Step 1: Log in to Plesk

  • From your Thamara Cloud Client Area → choose your hosting service → click Login to Plesk.


Step 2: Open the Databases Section

  • Click “Databases” from the left-side menu

(or use the Databases icon on the right panel if available).



Step 3: Select the Database to Back Up

  • You’ll see a list of all existing databases.
  • Locate the database you want to back up.


 Export the Database (Backup)

  • Under the selected database, click “Export Dump”.

  • ---> A pop-up window will appear with the following options:
  •  Where to save the backup (Server storage or download directly to your device).
    • Backup file name.
    • (Optional) Check “Automatically download dump after creation” to save it to your computer instantly.
  • Click OK to generate the backup.

 Step 4: Download the Backup (If Not Downloaded Automatically)

From the confirmation message

A download link will appear at the bottom right of the screen.

From File Manager

Go to File Manager → httpdocs (or main directory) → locate the .zip database backup → download.

Via FTP

Connect using FileZilla, browse to the backup location, and download manually.
