How to Back Up a Database in Plesk
Overview
Backing up your database is an essential step before making any changes or migrations. Plesk provides a simple way to export your database directly from the control panel as a downloadable backup file (.zip).
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Log in to Plesk
- From your Thamara Cloud Client Area → choose your hosting service → click Login to Plesk.
Step 2: Open the Databases Section
- Click “Databases” from the left-side menu
(or use the Databases icon on the right panel if available).

Step 3: Select the Database to Back Up
- You’ll see a list of all existing databases.
- Locate the database you want to back up.
Export the Database (Backup)
- Under the selected database, click “Export Dump”.

- ---> A pop-up window will appear with the following options:
- Where to save the backup (Server storage or download directly to your device).
- Backup file name.
- (Optional) Check “Automatically download dump after creation” to save it to your computer instantly.
- Click OK to generate the backup.


Step 4: Download the Backup (If Not Downloaded Automatically)

You can still download the database file by:
