Email Deliverability in cPanel
The Email Deliverability interface in cPanel helps you identify and fix issues with your domain’s mail-related DNS records (such as SPF and DKIM) so that your emails are trusted by recipient mail servers.
Step 1: Access the Email Deliverability Tool
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the Email section, click Email Deliverability.
- You’ll see a list of your domains along with the status of their mail-related DNS records
Step 2: Review the Email Deliverability Table
The table lists each domain and shows:
- Domain – the domain name or subdomain.
- Email Deliverability Status – indicates whether the records are valid or have problems.
- Repair / Manage options – to automatically repair or manually manage the DNS records for that domain
Step 3: Repair or Manage a Domain
Repair Option
If the system detects a problem, click Repair. The interface will suggest corrections and apply them if the server controls the DNS zone.
Manage Option
Click Manage to manually inspect or change settings:
- DKIM — Set up or view DomainKeys Identified Mail records for the domain.
- SPF — Set up or view Sender Policy Framework records that define which servers may send mail for your domain.
- Mail HELO / PTR / rDNS (if shown) — Verify that your mail server’s hostname and reverse DNS align correctly.
You can copy suggested TXT record values if your DNS is hosted externally.
Notes and Best Practices
- This tool only appears if your hosting plan has enabled the Email Deliverability feature.
- If your DNS is managed by a third-party provider, you must manually publish the suggested TXT records.
- Proper SPF, DKIM, and reverse DNS records help prevent your emails from being marked as spam or rejected.
- For domains sending large volumes of mail (newsletters, transactional mail), periodically revisit the Deliverability status to ensure good sender reputation.
